Banks County School System Superintendent Dr. Ann Hopkins announced Asha Ravencraft, teacher at Banks County High School, as the Banks County School System Teacher of the Year on Monday night, November 14th.  In addition, Ravencraft was awarded $500 from Jackson Electric Membership Corporation. The system also recognized each schools Teacher of the Year and Classified Employee of the Year.

Banks County Schools will be closed Friday, November 11, 2022, as the area is under a wind advisory due to the projected path of the storm and the potential issues during travel times. All activities for Thursday, November 10th will take place as scheduled. No extra-curricular activities will take place on Friday, November 11th. Thank you and please stay safe.

Banks County Primary School will host RED RIBBON WEEK from October 24th-October 28th. Red Ribbon week is the nation's largest and longest-running drug-use prevention campaign. Schools across that nation wear Red Ribbons and participate in activities to raise awareness.

Tuesday: Team Day-Team Up Against Drugs
Wednesday: Super Hero Day-Join the Fight Against Drugs
Thursday: Hawaiian Day-Waving the Drugs Goodbye
Friday: Book Character Day-Saying "No" to Drugs Shows Character

The Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP), administered by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), provides eligible low-income households with a $30 monthly subsidy for broadband service. School districts may request any combination of the below options provided by the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) and conducted by CTC Technology & Energy (CTC) to promote ACP enrollment for students and their families.

Banks County Schools had a celebration parade to honor Banks County High School's FFA teams as they headed to Indiana to compete in Nationals. Banks County EMS, Fire Department, and the Banks County Sheriff's office led the parade.
