In response to new state legislation (HB 340) and the negative impact cell phones and other personal electronic devices have on student learning, Banks County Board of Education is establishing a policy prohibiting the use of all personal electronic devices by students in grades K-12 from the first bell at the start of school each morning to the last dismissal bell at the end of the school day.

In a continued effort to enhance safety and security for students and staff, Banks County Schools will be implementing new access procedures at Banks County Primary School and Banks County Elementary School beginning this school year.

Banks County Schools is currently pausing the Annual Student Record Update process for the 2025–2026 school year. This temporary pause is necessary to allow time for updates to all student handbooks in order to reflect recent changes to state laws.

SPECIAL EDUCATION RECORDS TO BE DESTROYED
The Banks County School System Special Programs has announced its intention to destroy special education records of students born between January 1, 2000, and December 31, 2002.

Banks County Schools has been working to increase the rigor and consistency of
mathematics instruction for our K-5 students that will be implemented during the 2025- 2026 school year. Through a thorough process of review and analysis, enVision Mathematics Program has been selected by the team.

Banks County Primary School will hold in-person registration for Grades K–2 on the following dates:
Monday, July 28 | 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Tuesday, July 29 | 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM
