Two teachers from each school received a Random Acts of Kindness Gift from the Banks County Chamber last week to help celebrate World Kindness Day on February 17th.

Winners included Stacy Hobson and Regina Smith from Banks County Primary School. Emily Peek and Christy Pruitt from Banks County Elementary School.
Julie Parker and Jennifer Fitzgerald from Banks County Middle School. Curtis Chitwood and Heather Martin from Banks County High School.

The purpose of the Young Georgia Authors (YGA) writing competition is to encourage students to develop an enthusiasm for and expertise in their writing, to provide a context to celebrate their writing successes, and to recognize student achievement in arts and academics. This prestigious competition has been engaging Georgia students for more than two decades and is open to any student currently enrolled in Georgia public schools, grades K-12. The competition is sponsored by the Georgia Language Arts Supervisors (GLAS) and the Georgia RESA Network with support from the Georgia Department of Education.

Banks County Primary School is now accepting gifted nominations through Feb 16th. Parents may nominate their students for consideration for the eligibility team by notifying their child's teacher before February 16th.

The Georgia Parent Survey was developed to measure parent perceptions of school climate at your child’s school. Your opinion is very important to us. Your survey responses are confidential and will be combined with the survey responses of other parents at your child’s school to identify areas in need of improvement. It should only take ten or fifteen minutes to complete the survey.
