Banks County Schools to Celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week in May

Banks County Schools will join school systems across Georgia in celebrating Teacher Appreciation Week this May. In recognition of the vital role educators play in student growth and academic success, Governor Brian Kemp has officially proclaimed the first full week of May as Teacher Appreciation Week in Georgia.

Banks County Primary, Middle, and High Schools will observe the celebration from May 5–9, while Banks County Elementary School will celebrate May 12–16 to accommodate state testing schedules.

Throughout the month, the school system will highlight outstanding educators on its social media platforms and invites parents and students to share messages of appreciation through an online recognition form available on the Banks County Schools website and social media pages.

“This is a great opportunity to let our teachers know how much they are appreciated,” said Angie Bowen, Director of Communications and Digital Literacy. “Whether you send treats or simply share a heartfelt message, it truly makes a difference.”

The district welcomes community involvement in the celebration. Parents and local businesses interested in supporting the effort are encouraged to contact their child’s school or reach out to Angie Bowen at 706-677-2221 or [email protected].
