Exciting Update from the Banks County School Food and Nutrition Department

The Banks County School Food and Nutrition Department is excited to announce an important development for the 2024-2025 school year. Under the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP), a National School Lunch Program (NSLP), and School Breakfast Program (SBP) meal service option, all enrolled students will be eligible to receive meals at no cost.

All Banks County students will be eligible for free breakfast and lunch during the 2024-2025 school year. School Food and Nutrition Director Nicole Blalock expressed her enthusiasm for this initiative: "We are excited that all students will benefit from this service next year."

Blalock also emphasized the importance of starting the school year with zero carry-over debt, as the new procedure will allow no charging. Although local donations from the Class of 2014 and the North Georgia Wingman Chapter have helped reduce the existing charges from the previous school year, there is still an outstanding debt.

"We welcome any donations to offset this amount, ensuring that all of our students can start the new school year without any carry-over debt," stated Blalock.
