For Families Who Have Opted for Virtual Learning Fall Semester
As you prepare to begin August 19, please feel free to visit the following website for some guidance and tips to help families successfully implement virtual learning.
https://www.edgenuity.com/resources/edgenuity-help-for-families/
https://www.edgenuity.com/resources/edgenuity-help-for-families/#tips
We are working with Edgenuity to have students enrolled and ready to begin virtual learning on August 19. An email will be sent out with teacher contact information, as well as login URL and directions. Please know this is new to our district. As we continue to work to provide this alternative mode of instruction, we recognize this will be a learning process for all of us. We may experience glitches along the way. Please be patient as we navigate this process and work to make it the best it can be for our students.

Welcome to the 2020-2021 School Year!

8/5/2020

Welcome back 2020-2021 Leopard family!  We are pleased to announce that BCPS will be offering in person Open House options for all new kindergarten students.  In order to keep numbers in the building low, we respectfully request that only the parents and/or guardians of the kindergarten student, along with the new kindergartner, attend.  Below you will find your designated times.  You may choose option (A) or option (B).

For our upcoming 1st and 2nd grade students, you and your child will have the opportunity to participate in a virtual Open House through Google Meet or by appointment only on August 17th. Your child’s teacher will be communicating with you about how to connect to the virtual meeting or to schedule a face-to-face appointment if needed. These options will allow students to meet their teacher and see who their classmates will be.

We understand the first day of school is always an exciting time, but can also be a time when students are nervous about returning to school. As part of our safety protocols, we respectfully request only kindergarten parents walk them to class on the first day of school. We would like to assure you, we will be assisting ALL students with finding their way to their new classroom. We are excited about the upcoming school year and we are looking forward to having students back in our classrooms!

Update on Kindergarten Registration

6/11/2020

Banks County School System is working to streamline the kindergarten registration process as much as possible in light of COVID-19 and the need to adjust our typical registration process/procedures. An online registration system will be rolled out in the coming weeks enabling parents/guardians to complete the majority of the registration process online. We will provide an update as soon as this is available. In the coming weeks, we plan to also post dates/times in July for parents to bring in their student(s) for a brief screening and provide the following supporting documents that will be necessary to complete the registration process.

Certified copy of the student's birth certificate

Student's social security card

Parent/guardian photo identification

Georgia Dept of Human Services Immunization Form 3231

Certification of ear, eye and dental examination

Proof of address: property tax statement, current utility bill, landline phone bill or rental agreement

Proof of custody (if applicable)

We apologize for the delay as we are navigating these unprecedented times and are seeking to ensure the safety of our students and families. Thank you for your patience and understanding. We are looking forward to meeting the class of 2033!
